Impact Weapons Training & Self Defense

Shaolin Staff

Using the Long Staff (tapered 6’ white wax wood pole) you will learn to use it as a conditioning & exercise tool, how to spin the staff in all directions, proper tactics for offense and defense with partner drilling & sparring, as well as studying Tao Lou (forms/kata training).

Comabt Escrima

Offering straight forward, practical and effective methods for training with blunt & edged weapons. Using Kali shorts sticks (28” rattan) & practice knives, you will learn how to utlize these tools & defend yourself against them. This is a condesned, no nonsense that offers genuine self defense, skills development and incredible hand/eye & full body coordination.

Outline (60-75 minutes classes)

  • Warm-ups & mobility work

  • Conditioning

  • Skills development (spins, footwork, etc)

  • Partner Drilling (striking, blocking & parrying techniques)

  • Optional sparring or continued partner drilling

  • Tao Lou (forms training; solo & partner practice)

Conditioning & light to medium contact training & sparring (full contact sparring is reserved for advanced practitioners, with protective equipment)
